Step-By-Step Guide To Make Malpua For Holi

Holi will be celebrated on March 14, 2025, and people have already started preparing snacks. However, some delicacies like gujiya and mapua are left to be prepared a day before the festival. Here is your short guide to prepare delightful malpua.

Ingredients

1 tsp saunf 1.25 cups maida 1.5 cups of milk ½ tsp elaichi 3-4 tbsp ghee 3 tbsp milk ¼ cup water ½ cup sugar 2 tbsp lemon juice

Step 1

Combine milk, fennel seeds, maida, and cardamom. Make a smooth batter.

Step 2

In a saucepan, add water and sugar. Let the mixture come to a boil and lemon juice in it.

Step 3

Heat ghee in a kadhai and pour 2-3 tbsp batter in it.

Step 4

Fry the discs until they turn golden brown and slightly crispy.

Step 5

Add fried discs to the sugar syrup. Keep them immersed for 10 minutes.

Step 6

Serve malpua with a garnish of crushed pista, cardamom powder, and rose petals.
