Step-By-Step Guide To Make Aloo Papad At Home In Summer

Summer is the time when you will witness roofs in Indian households covered with a variety of papad, aloo papad being the most common. These are easy to make and take hardly any time for preparation. Here is how to make aloo papad at home.

Ingredients

2 kg potatoes Salt to taste Red chilli powder (as required) 2 tablespoons cumin seeds 4 tablespoons coriander leaves

Step 1

Boil potatoes with skin. Make sure that you neither over-boil them nor leave them raw in the process.

Step 2

Allow potatoes to cool off for a bit. Meanwhile, lay down a clean plastic sheet and grease it with oil. Keep two small plastic sheets aside.

Step 3

Mash potatoes and add all the spices to them. Taste the mixture once and adjust the quantity of salt and spices.

Step 4

Make a small ball with the mixture, put it between plastic sheets on a plate, and press it with a heavyweight, just enough to make a round papad.

Step 5

Slowly spread the papad on a larger plastic sheet. Repeat the process with the rest of the mixture.

Step 6

Allow papad to dry in the air, turn them over once you can lift them with bare hands, and keep them in the sun to dry out. Fry or microwave these to enjoy with your meals.
