Spinach cheela is a savoury pancake made with gram flour, chopped spinach, and basic spices. It’s quick, nutritious, and goes well with chutney or curd.
¾ cup besan (gram flour) 1 cup spinach (finely chopped) ½ onion (chopped) ¼ tsp turmeric ¼ tsp cumin or ajwain Salt to taste Water to make batter Oil for cooking
In a bowl, mix besan, chopped spinach, onion, turmeric, cumin or ajwain, and salt.
Slowly add water to make a smooth batter with pouring consistency, free of lumps.
Heat a non-stick tawa or pan and grease lightly with oil.
Pour a ladle of batter and spread gently into a medium-sized circle.
Cook each side for 1–2 minutes on medium heat until golden. Serve hot.
