Tomato chutney is a tangy and flavourful South Indian side dish made with ripe tomatoes, spices, and tempered with curry leaves. It pairs perfectly with idli, and dosa, adding a delicious kick to every bite.
2 chopped tomatoes 2 dry red chillies 2 garlic cloves 1 chopped onion 1 tsp tamarind 1 tbsp oil Salt to taste Tempering: 1 tsp oil ½ tsp mustard seeds 5-6 curry leaves
Heat oil, sauté red chillies, garlic cloves, and chopped onion till soft.
Add chopped tomatoes, salt, and tamarind, cook until the tomatoes turn mushy, then let them cool and grind to a smooth paste.
Heat oil, splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves, and then pour it over the chutney.
Serve with idli or dosa.
