The South Indian staple, uttapam, is thicker than a dosa and loaded with a range of toppings. If you’re looking for a quick and healthy breakfast option, here’s how you can make uttapam.
1 cup idli rice 1/4 cup urad dal 1/4 cup chana dal 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds 1 tomato 1/2 onion Coriander leaves Salt to taste Oil for cooking
Soak rice, urad dal, chana dal, and fenugreek seeds. Grind into a smooth batter.
Let the batter ferment till it is fluffy and approximately doubled in volume.
Mix chopped tomatoes, onion, and coriander leaves. Set aside.
Heat a tawa and pour a ladleful of batter. Sprinkle the tomato mixture on top.
Cook on both sides till golden brown and serve with sambar or chutney.
