Dal vada is a classic South Indian snack that checks all boxes to be the go-to rainy-day snack. It is quick to make, crunchy, and pairs perfectly with a cup of tea. Here’s how you can make dal vada at home.
1 cup dal 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste 2 tablespoons coriander leaves 1 tablespoon curry leaves 2 green chillies 2 teaspoons red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon hing 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder Salt to taste Oil for frying
Rinse and soak the dal for about 2-3 hours until it softens.
Add onion, coriander, curry leaves, ginger paste, green chillies, red chilli powder, haldi, and salt.
Take small portions of the batter and deep-fry until they are crispy.
Serve hot with sambar and a spicy chutney.
