South Indian Misal Pav: Try This Nutritious Breakfast Recipe

Misal pav, the staple Maharashtrian breakfast is popular for all the right reasons. Made with a healthy lentil-based curry, sprouted moth beans, and topped with sev, it is the perfect way to start your day.

Ingredients

1 cup sprouted moth beans 1 onion 1 tomato 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp turmeric powder 2 tsp red chilli powder 2 tsp misal masala Oil as required Salt to taste Water as required 1 pack pav Sev for topping

Step 1

Pressure cook sprouted moth beans with some salt and haldi powder for 2-3 whistles.

Step 2

Heat some oil, chop the onion, and sauté . Add ginger-garlic paste and chopped tomato and cook.

Step 3

Mix in red chilli powder, misal masala, and salt. Add water and cooked moth beans.

Step 4

Bring to a boil and let the mixture simmer for about ten minutes.

Step 5

Top with sev and garnish with coriander leaves. Toast some pavs and serve.
