Solkadhi is a traditional Konkani drink made to be light, cooling, and soothing after meals. It is commonly served alongside coastal meals to aid digestion and balance rich or spicy food. The flavour stays mildly tangy and creamy rather than sharp.
6–8 dried kokum petals 1 cup thick coconut milk 1½ cups warm water 1 small garlic clove, lightly crushed 1 green chilli, finely crushed Salt to taste Chopped coriander for garnish
Soak kokum petals in warm water for 20–30 minutes until the water turns deep pink.
Lightly crush the soaked kokum into the liquid.
Add coconut milk, garlic, green chilli, and salt.
Mix gently, chill well, garnish, and serve after meals.
