Skip the store-bought version and indulge in the art of making doughnuts right from the comfort of your home! With light, fluffy and a melt-in-mouth texture, these donuts are perfect for every occasion.
2 cups all-purpose flour 2 tbsp sugar 1 tsp instant yeast ¼ tsp salt 2 tbsp butter (softened) ½ cup warm milk (adjust as needed) Oil for frying Optional: chocolate glaze, powdered sugar
Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk and sugar with it. Keep it for rest for about 10 minutes till it turns frothy.
Mix flour, salt, butter, and yeast. Knead it to make a soft, smooth dough.
Cover the dough and let it rise for about an hour until it doubles in size.
Roll the dough about half an inch thick, cut circles using a cutter, and make small holes in the centre.
Place the prepared donuts on butter paper and rest for 20 minutes to get a light texture.
Heat oil and fry these till golden brown on both sides.
Dip in chocolate or sugar glaze, or dust with some powdered sugar and enjoy.
