Ramen, originating from Japan, is built around the balance of broth, noodles and toppings. While traditional versions can take hours, a simplified home-style approach focuses on a clean, flavourful broth with fresh aromatics, making it accessible without losing its comforting appeal.
1 pack ramen noodles 2 cups vegetable or chicken stock 1 teaspoon soy sauce 1 teaspoon garlic 1 teaspoon ginger 1 tablespoon oil Vegetables or protein of choice Spring onions
Heat oil and sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
Add stock and soy sauce, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
Add vegetables or protein and cook until just tender.
Cook noodles separately to maintain texture, then add to the broth.
Finish with spring onions and serve hot.
