Skandamata is offered banana-based prasad and soft halwa, symbolising nourishment and calm - gentle sweetness, warm ghee notes, and soft textures that feel pure, comforting, and deeply rooted in tradition.
2 bananas 1 cup sooji ½ cup ghee ¾ cup sugar 2½ cups water ½ tsp cardamom powder 2 tbsp chopped almonds 1 tbsp raisins
Heat ghee and roast sooji on a low flame until lightly golden and fragrant.
Add hot water slowly, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
Add sugar and cook until thick and glossy.
Mix cardamom, almonds, and raisins into the halwa.
Slice bananas and serve alongside warm halwa as bhog.
