On a warm summer day, this tequila-based cocktail goes great with chips and guacamole on your back patio. Blackberry margaritas are an absolutely fabulous drink for any time of the year.
6-10 fresh blackberries ½ cup of sugar ½ cup of water Two shots of silver tequila, 1 ½ cup of orange liqueur, Cointreau, or triple sec ½ ounce of fresh lime juice
In a small saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and blackberries.
After bringing the mixture to a boil, lower the heat to a simmer and cook for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the fruit is cooked through.
Cool the mixture after passing it through a fine-mesh strainer. You can keep the syrup in the refrigerator for up to six weeks.
If making a single cocktail, fill a cocktail pitcher with ice; if making the entire recipe, fill a big pitcher.
In a cocktail pitcher or a huge pitcher, mix the tequila, blackberry syrup, orange liqueur, and lime juice.
Stir. Pour it into a glass with additional ice. Add some lime slices and fresh blackberries as garnish.
