Single-Serve Focaccia Bread Recipe For When You Don’t Want The Entire Loaf

Focaccia is a flat oven-baked Italian bread similar in style and texture to pizza. It is not that tough to bake if you are a beginner. You don’t have to make an entire loaf. Here is a recipe for a single serve to kickstart your bread baking adventures!

Ingredients

¾ cup of  T-65 flour ¾ cup gluten ½ tsp improver ½ tsp of instant yeast Water, as needed Salt, as needed 2 tbsp of olive oil ¼ tsp Italian herbs 3 tbsp chopped onions ¼ tsp rock salt 1 ½ tbsp of olives

Step 1

Make a dough by mixing T-65 flour, gluten, improver and yeast with water. Knead until smooth.

Step 2

Add salt and olive oil. Knead again thoroughly.

Step 3

Add the Italian herbs. Make a smooth ball of the dough. Place it on a tray greased with oil.

Step 4

Cover with cling wrap and place in the oven with the light on to proof for 30-40 minutes.

Step 5

Gently knock down the dough and flatten it with fingers dipped in olive oil.

Step 6

Add sautéed onions, herbs, olives and rock salt. Transfer to a place with ample light and heat to proof again.

Step 7

Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C for 30-35 minutes till golden brown on top. Brush with olive oil once done!
