Sawan Special No-Onion Paneer Masala Recipe For Your Vrat Thali

If you’re observing a fast this Sawan, you don’t have to rely on potatoes to fill your plate. Paneer when cooked without onion and garlic is a healthier choice. Here’s how to make vrat-friendly paneer masala.

Ingredients

250 g paneer 2 tomatoes 10-12 cashews 2 tablespoons fresh cream 1 tablespoon ghee 1 teaspoon jeera 1 teaspoon grated ginger 2 green chillies ½ teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder ½ teaspoon garam masala Rock salt as required 1 cup water Coriander leaves for garnish

Step 1

Make a puree with tomatoes and soaked cashews. Set it aside.

Step 2

Heat some ghee and splutter jeera. Add grated ginger and green chillies.

Step 3

Mix in the tomato and cashew puree and cook till it thickens.

Step 4

Stir in haldi, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and rock salt.

Step 5

Chop the paneer into cubes, add to the gravy and simmer. Mix in fresh cream and garam masala.

Step 6

Garnish with corainder leaves and serve with kuttu roti or samak rice.
