Sawan Somwar Special: Aloo Halwa Recipe You Must Try

If you fast or adhere to dietary restrictions during the holy month of Sawan, you might have to skip on your favourite desserts. But while fasting, you can have this sweet and mouth-melting aloo halwa.

Ingredients

500 grams potatoes 200 grams sugar 100 grams ghee 4-5 green cardamom pods, crushed A pinch of saffron Chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, raisins)

Step 1

Boil the potatoes. Peel and mash them thoroughly. Set aside.

Step 2

Heat some ghee and cook mashed potatoes till golden brown.

Step 3

Add sugar and stir till it dissolves. Mix in crushed cardamom and saffron.

Step 4

Garnish with chopped dry fruits and relish aloo halwa.
