Making Panchamrit for Rudrabhishek during the Sawan month is a very common practice. Prepared with five sacred and simple ingredients, this bhog represents purity, devotion and sacred blessings from worshipping Lord Shiva.

Ingredients

1 cup full-fat milk ½ cup fresh curd 2 tablespoons honey 2 tablespoons sugar 1 tablespoon ghee 8–10 tulsi leaves 1 teaspoon chopped dry fruits (optional) ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder (optional)

Step 1

Take fresh milk, curd, honey, sugar, and ghee, and make sure they are at room temperature before you start making it.

Step 2

Take a clean vessel and add milk, curd and ghee to it. Mix everything gently until the mixture turns smooth. Do not overwhisk.

Step 3

To this, now add honey and sugar. Mix until the sugar gets dissolved completely.

Step 4

To this, now add tulsi leaves and sprinkle chopped dry fruits to add some extra flavour.

Step 5

Use the freshly made Panchamrit to perform Lord Shiva's Rudrabhishek and then distribute it later as prasad.
