Adding fresh beetroot juice or finely grated beetroot gives the traditional chaas a striking bright pink hue along with subtle earthy sweetness. Seasoned strictly with sendha namak (rock salt), roasted cumin, and fresh mint, this vibrant vrat drink keeps you refreshed and energized throughout your fast.
2 cups fresh plain yoghurt (curd) 1 cup chilled water 2 tablespoons raw beetroot, finely grated or pureed 1/2 teaspoon sendha namak (rock salt) 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder 1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Add the plain yoghurt, chilled water, and grated beetroot to a blender or large jug.
hisk or blend the mixture for thirty seconds until smooth, frothy, and uniformly pink.
Stir in the sendha namak and roasted cumin powder, adjusting the salt to your preference.
Pour into chilled glasses over ice cubes, garnish with fresh coriander and mint leaves, and serve cold.
