Fasting during Sawan 2026 calls for crispy and satisfying snacks like sabudana chivda. This vrat friendly mix uses large nylon sabudana pearls deep fried until they puff up into light and crunchy spheres. Tossed with roasted peanuts, fried potato sticks, and fresh curry leaves, it offers a wonderful contrast of textures. Seasoned with sendha namak and powdered sugar, this sweet and salty trail mix stores perfectly for your daily fasting requirements.
1 cup large nylon sabudana 1/2 cup raw peanuts 1/2 cup potato sticks 10 fresh curry leaves 1 teaspoon powdered sugar 1 teaspoon sendha namak 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder Oil for deep frying
Heat oil in a deep pan until very hot, then drop in a few sabudana pearls at a time, frying until they puff up completely and stop sizzling.
Fry the raw peanuts and potato sticks in the same oil until golden brown, then briefly fry the curry leaves until crisp.
Drain all the fried ingredients on absorbent paper to remove excess oil and transfer them to a large mixing bowl.
Toss the warm mixture with sendha namak, powdered sugar, and black pepper powder until uniformly coated, storing in an airtight container once completely cool.
