Savoury sevai is a popular breakfast dish in North India. Loaded with vegetables, it is packed with fibre and leaves your stomach feeling fulfilled. Check out this recipe.
2 cups sevai Salt to taste 3 cups water 1 onion, tomato ½ tsp turmeric powder 1 tbsp capsicum 1 tbsp carrot 1-inch ginger 1 garlic clove 1 tsp oregano, chilli powder 1 chopped green chilli 1 tbsp butter 1 tsp mustard seeds
Melt butter and add mustard seeds to it. Once seeds crackle, add green chilli, ginger, and garlic.
After sauteing for a minute, add turmeric powder, onion, carrot, and capsicum.
Add tomatoes and sprinkle salt. Once tomatoes turn mushy, add water.
Fold in sevai too and cook until the strands swell and the blend thickens.
Add oregano and chilli powder. Finish it with butter and coriander leaves. Serve.
