During the auspicious month of Shravan, people observe a fast to please Lord Shiva. They give up onion and garlic. Therefore, Slurrp brings you a sattvic recipe for aloo gravy to enjoy throughout this month.
1 tbsp green chillies 5 medium boiled potatoes 1.5 tbsp lemon juice Rock salt to taste 1 tbsp ginger 3 glasses of water 4 tbsp coriander leaves 1 tsp cumin seeds 2 tbsp cooking oil 2 cloves ¼ tsp asafoetida
Peel boiled potatoes and roughly mash them.
Heat oil and let cumin seeds crackle. Add cloves and hing.
Add green chillies, ginger, and mashed potatoes. Stir the ingredients.
Add water to adjust the consistency of the gravy, and let everything cook.
When the boil comes, add lemon juice and coriander leaves.
Serve this sattvic curry with rice and roti.
