Sattu Paratha Recipe: Nutritious, Protein-Rich Flatbread

Sattu paratha is a traditional stuffed flatbread made with roasted gram flour filling, seasoned with spices and herbs. It is wholesome, filling, and popular as a breakfast or lunch dish.

Ingredients

2 cups whole wheat flour (for dough) 1 cup sattu (roasted gram flour) 1 small onion (finely chopped) 2 green chillies (finely chopped) 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves (chopped) 1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds) 1 tsp roasted cumin powder 1 tsp mustard oil Salt to taste Water as needed Ghee or oil for roasting

Step 1

Knead wheat flour with water and a pinch of salt into a soft dough. Keep aside.

Step 2

In a bowl, mix sattu, onion, green chilli, coriander, ajwain, cumin powder, mustard oil, and salt. Add a little water if needed to bind the filling.

Step 3

Divide dough into equal portions and roll each into a small disc. Place filling in the centre, seal, and roll gently into a paratha.

Step 4

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
