Sambar is one of the quintessential South Indian dishes. Instead of using sambar masala filled with preservatives and artificial colours, follow this recipe and make the spice mix at home.
125 grams coriander seeds 125 grams dry red chilli 100 grams toor dal 50 grams channa dal 25 grams pepper 25 grams raw turmeric 12 grams dry methi
Take all the ingredients and mix them in a large bowl.
Sun dry the mixture or roast them together till fragrant.
After a day, grind the mixture into a fine powder.
Transfer the sambar powder into an air-tight container and store it till next use.
