Sabudana Chilla: A Perfect Fasting Delight

Sabudana Chilla is a light, crispy, and gluten-free meal, made with soaked sabudana (tapioca pearls), ideal for vrat (fasting) days or as a healthy snack. It’s mildly spiced, easy to digest, and packed with energy.

Ingredients

1 cup soaked sabudana 1 mashed boiled potato 2 tbsp roasted peanut powder 2 tbsp chopped coriander 1–2 finely chopped green chillies ½ tsp cumin seeds Sendha namak to taste Oil or ghee for roasting

Step 1

Mash and mix soaked sabudana with mashed potato, peanut powder, chillies, cumin, coriander, and rock salt.

Step 2

Form a dough-like mixture, then add a small amount of water only if the mixture is too dry.

Step 3

Heat a non-stick pan and spread a portion of the mixture into a thin round chilla.

Step 4

Drizzle ghee/oil on the sides and cook on medium flame until golden and crisp on both sides.

Step 5

Serve hot with curd or vrat-friendly chutney.
