Mango halwa, also known as mango kesari or mango sheera in different regions, is a traditional Indian dessert. A non-negotiable for the summer, here’s how you can whip up mango halwa in 5 steps.
2 ripe mangoes 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup ghee 1/4 cup semolina 1/4 cup chopped nuts 2-3 cardamoms A pinch of saffron
Take chopped mangoes and blend them into a puree till smooth.
Heat some ghee and roast semolina for a few minutes till it is light brown in colour.
Add the mango puree and cook for about five minutes.
When the mixture starts to thicken, add sugar and mix well.
Add more ghee, saffron and cardamoms. Garnish with chopped dry fruits and serve.
