On August 16, people will be celebrating Lord Krishna’s birthday, but not without his favourite dessert. He does not want cake or muffins; he loves rice kheer. Follow this recipe to please Ladoo Gopal.
¼ cup water 4 cups milk 4-6 tbsp sugar ¼ cup rice ¼ cup nuts ½ tsp cardamom powder 2 tbsp raisins A pinch of saffron ½ tbsp ghee
Wash rice until the water runs clear and soak it.
Heat milk in a pan and reduce it a little bit.
Add sugar and rice. Stir the ingredients until the grains are done.
Add the remaining ingredients and cook for another 5-8 minutes.
Garnish the kheer with saffron and add a bit of ghee on the top.
Refrigerate it before serving to Lord Krishna along with his other favourites.
