Rice dhokla, also known as khatta dhokla, is a spongy Gujarati snack made with rice and urad dal. Made with healthy ingredients and steamed, rice dhokla is a quick, guilt-free snack you can make at home.
For the Batter: 1 cup rice ½ cup urad dal ½ cup curd Salt to taste For Tempering: 2 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 2-3 slit green chillies 8-10 curry leaves A pinch of hing For Garnishing: Grated coconut Coriander leaves
Wash and soak rice and urad dal. Drain and grind till smooth. Add curd and salt. Let it ferment.
Grease a pan with some oil and boil water in a steamer.
Pour the batter into the pan and place it in the steamer. Steam for 15-20 minutes.
Prepare the tempering by sautéing green chillies, curry leaves, and hing.
Let the dhokla cool down and drizzle the tempering over it.
Garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves. Serve with a chutney.
