Don’t you love ordering the spicy serving of mushroom do pyaaza at your favourite North Indian restaurant? Why don’t you make it at home with this recipe and enjoy it with naan, paratha, or roti?
400 grams button mushrooms 1 onion 3 tomatoes 1 ginger 2 cloves garlic 3 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 2 cloves 1 inch cinnamon stick 2 green cardamoms 1 black cardamom 1 bay leaf 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste Coriander leaves (for garnishing)
Heat oil and saute cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, green cardamoms, black cardamom, and bay leaf.
Cook chopped onion till golden, and add ginger, garlic, and pureed tomatoes.
Add all the spices and sliced mushrooms.
Balance the consistency by adding some water. Cook till the mushrooms are tender.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
