Homemade Gujarati Ghari Sweet Recipe For Your Next Festive Feast

Packed with silky mawa, crunchy nuts, and loads of ghee, ghari sweet recipe is one of Surat’s most loved festive treats. Its flaky outer layer and rich melt-in-the-mouth filling make every bite feel luxurious and celebratory.

Ingredients

1 cup maida 2 tbsp ghee Water as needed 1 cup mawa 1/2 cup powdered sugar 2 tbsp chopped almonds 2 tbsp chopped pistachios 1/2 tsp cardamom powder 1/4 cup ghee for roasting Ghee for deep frying

Step 1

Mix maida, ghee, and water into a soft dough and let it rest for 20 minutes.

Step 2

Roast mawa in ghee until fragrant, then mix in powdered sugar, nuts, and cardamom powder.

Step 3

Roll small dough portions, fill them with the mawa mixture, and seal carefully.

Step 4

Deep fry the stuffed ghari on low heat until lightly golden and crisp outside.

Step 5

Dip the fried ghari briefly in melted ghee and let it cool before serving.
