A stovetop oatmeal recipe is one that offers comfort and nourishment during the winter season—while also becoming a canvas for various ingredient combinations to make it different each time. This creamy oatmeal can also be replicated to accommodate a vegan diet by switching out the dairy for plant-based milk.
½ cup rolled oats 1 cup milk ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder 1.5 tablespoons maple syrup 1 pinch sea salt 1 tablespoon chopped almonds 4-5 strawberries, sliced ½ teaspoon orange zest 1-2 tablespoons Greek yoghurt
Add the rolled oats and milk to a saucepan and bring to a boil before reducing the heat to cook for 2-5 minutes.
Stir occasionally to prevent it from sticking at the bottom, before adding in the orange zest, sea salt. Cinnamon powder and maple syrup.
Turn off the heat once it reduces and transfer to a bowl.
Top up with chopped almonds, sliced strawberries and a dollop of Greek yoghurt before serving.
