Green papaya salad, also known as Som Tam in Thai cuisine, is a refreshing, tangy, and spicy salad made with shredded raw papaya, lime, chillies, and peanuts. Low in calories yet rich in vitamins, it’s refreshing, digestive-friendly, and perfect as a healthy appetiser.
1 cup shredded green papaya 1 shredded carrot 2 garlic cloves 1-2 green chillies 1 tbsp roasted peanuts 1 tbsp lime juice 1 tsp soy sauce ½ tsp sugar Salt to taste
Pound garlic and chillies together using a crusher.
Add lime juice, soy sauce, sugar, and mix well.
Toss in shredded papaya, carrot, and peanuts.
Mix everything gently to allow the flavours to combine.
Serve fresh, topped with some extra peanuts.
