Ramadan 2026: Shahi Tukda Recipe To Make The Traditional Dessert

The month of Ramadan has started, and every Iftar calls for an indulgent dessert. As the name suggests, shahi tukda is truly a royal dessert that cannot be missed. Follow this recipe to make shahi tukda at home.

Ingredients

4 bread slices 1 litre of milk 1 cup sugar 1 cup water Oil for frying 3-4 cardamoms 1/2 teaspoon rose water Chopped nuts Saffron for garnishing

Step 1

Take the bread slices and cut them into equal squares.

Step 2

Deep fry the bread pieces till they are crunchy and golden brown, and set them aside.

Step 3

Simmer milk, sugar, cardamom, and rose water to make rabri.

Step 4

Coat the fried bread pieces with sugar syrup. Add the coated bread to the rabri.

Step 5

Garnish with chopped nuts and saffron, and enjoy.
