The month of Ramadan is roaring along. When it comes to sweets, a lot of you search for simple, cosy recipes. An excellent choice is Aleev kheer pudding.
3 tbsp assario seeds or garden cress seeds ¼ cup water 2 cups milk A pinch of saffron A pinch of cardamom 2 tbsp honey for sweetness Slivered almonds
The seeds should be soaked in water until they plump up.
Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan.
Heat for around 10 minutes. Add the saffron, cardamom and the soaked seeds.
Stir well. Cook for another ten minutes, stirring occassionally till the mixture is slightly thickened.
Switch off, add the almonds and the honey. Mix well and enjoy warm.
Keep it in the fridge within 1–2 hours of cooking. Aleev seeds can ferment if left out too long.
