Give your mornings a healthy twist with these soft and fluffy Ragi Idlis. Perfect for fitness lovers, they are a wholesome breakfast that keeps you light, full, and energised all day.
1 cup ragi flour ½ cup urad dal 1 cup idli rice Salt to taste Water as needed Oil for greasing idli moulds
Wash the urad dal and rice separately. Soak the urad dal for 4 hours and the idli rice for about 6 hours.
Grind the soaked urad dal to make a smooth, fluffy batter. Grind rice a bit coarsely, then mix both.
Add the ragi flour and salt to the batter. Mix it well with water to make a thick, pourable consistency paste.
Cover the paste and let the batter ferment overnight.
Grease the idli moulds, pour the batter, and steam for about 10–12 minutes until it turns soft and spongy.
Remove, keep it for a few minutes, and gently take it out of the mould. Serve it with coconut chutney and sambar for a perfect meal.
