Sweet and citrusy, a cup of warm lemon tea is ideal to sip on—given that it has a noticeable absence of dairy unlike the Indian chai. Swap the honey with any sweetener of choice such as jaggery, maple syrup or even date syrup for added depth of flavour.
1 cup water 1 teaspoon tea leaves 1 teaspoon honey 1 teaspoon lemon juice Lemon slice, for garnish
Add the water and tea leaves to a saucepan and simmer for 5-6 minutes over low heat.
Strain into a cup before adding in the lemon juice and honey; stir well to combine.
Serve hot, garnished with a slice of lemon.
