Tomato upma is a quick fix to your hunger. It is a dish that can be prepared in under 15 minutes, not to mention that it is nutritious and delicious. Being lightweight on the stomach, it is easy to digest and can be eaten for breakfast as well.
1 cup rava 1 tomato 2 tsp oil ½ tsp mustard seeds 1 slit green chilli ½ tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp chana dal 1 red chilli 1/2-inch grated ginger 1 cup water Salt to taste 5-6 curry leaves
In a pan, heat oil and saute curry leaves, mustard seeds, ginger, red chilli, and green chilli.
Add tomatoes and cook them until they are mushy.
Add powdered spices and cook the ingredients for 5 minutes.
Add water and rava to the mix and cook until the blend thickens.
You can also add a handful of peas.
Once done, serve tomato upma and enjoy.
