Poha cutlets are a delicious snack made with softened poha, boiled potatoes, and a blend of spices. These crispy, golden-brown cutlets are perfect for tea time or as an appetiser.
1 cup poha (flattened rice) 1 medium potato 1/2 cup onions 1/4 cup coriander leaves 1-2 green chillies 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp garam masala 1/4 cup breadcrumbs 2 tbsp oil Salt
Rinse the poha in water for a few seconds, then drain it well. Let it sit for a couple of minutes to soften.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened poha, boiled mashed potato, chopped onions, coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix everything well.
Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into round or oval patties. If the mixture is too loose, add breadcrumbs to help bind it together.
Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, place the cutlets in the pan and shallow fry them until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides.
Serve the poha cutlets hot with green chutney or tamarind chutney for a delicious snack.
