Masala paratha is a flavourful Indian flatbread infused with aromatic spices like cumin, coriander, and garam masala. Made with whole wheat flour, it’s crispy and wholesome, perfect for breakfast or snacks. Serve it with yoghurt or pickles for a delicious, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

2 cups whole wheat flour Water: as needed (for kneading) 2 tbsp oil or ghee 1 tsp salt 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp coriander powder

Ingredients

½ tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp garam masala ¼ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp Ajwain (carom seeds) 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp grated ginger Salt

Step 1

In a bowl, mix wheat flour, salt, and water to form a soft dough. Add 1 tbsp oil or ghee, knead for 5 minutes, cover, and let it rest for 20 minutes.

Step 2

Combine cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric, ajwain, coriander leaves, grated ginger, and salt in a small bowl.

Step 3

Divide the dough into equal portions and roll into balls. Flatten a ball, sprinkle the masala mixture evenly, fold the edges to seal, and roll gently into a paratha.

Step 4

Heat a tawa (griddle) on medium heat. Place the paratha on it and cook until golden brown spots appear on both sides. Apply a little oil or ghee while flipping. Serve hot with yoghurt, pickle, or chutney.
