Punjabi aloo-matar samosa is the perfect snack to indulge in during monsoons, especially with masala chai. The scent of garam masala in the filling and whole spices in the tea complement each other quite well. Note the recipe.
4 boiled potatoes 1 cup boiled peas 2 cups maida Oil for frying Water & Salt as needed 1 tsp garam masala, coriander powder ½ tsp cumin powder 1 tsp ginger 2 chopped green chillies 2 tbsp oil
Knead the dough with water, but sprinkle salt before mixing the maida.
Heat oil in a pan and saute powdered spices along with ginger and chillies.
Add crumbled potatoes and peas. Cook the ingredients until the potatoes turn slightly black.
Once the filling has cooled off, stuff it inside the dough, roll and cut into semi-circles.
Shape the samosas and deep-fry them in hot oil.
When the crust is crispy, take them out, remove excess oil, and enjoy with masala chai.
