South Indian cuisine is considered to have one of the healthiest breakfast options. If you are looking for a quick recipe, try making rava upma with puffed rice or murmura for a nutritious and tasty breakfast.
2 cups puffed rice (murmura) 1 tbsp oil 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 1/2 tsp urad dal 1/2 tsp chana dal A pinch of hing 1 sprig curry leaves 1 onion 1 green chilli 1/4 cup roasted peanuts Salt to taste 2 tbsp chopped coriander 1 tbsp lemon juice
Rinse the puffed rice, and quickly squeeze out the excess water.
Heat some oil and saute mustard seeds, urad dal, and chana dal.
Add in hing, curry leaves, chopped onion, and green chilli.
Mix in the murmura, roasted peanuts, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves and a squeeze of lemon. Serve hot.
