Pudina Rice: Make This Tantalising Meal For A Quick Weeknight Dinner

Among the so many loved varieties of pulao, pudina or mint pulao has no less followers. Why don’t you make this easy and sumptuous rice dish for dinner tonight?

Ingredients

1 cup mint leaves Handful of coriander leaves ½ ginger 4 garlic cloves 2 tbsp grated coconut 1 tbsp coriander seeds 2 tbsp oil 1 cup basmati rice 1 cinnamon stick 1 bay leaf 3 green cardamoms ½ tsp cumin seeds 1 tomato 1 potato ½ cup peas Water, as required

Step 1

Take basmati rice and rinse it well. Soak rice in water for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Drain the water and put it aside.

Step 2

Heat a pan and add oil. Add all the whole spices and cook until they become aromatic.

Step 3

Add sliced onions and cook until they turn golden.

Step 4

Add the mint paste, followed by red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Sauté well.

Step 5

Add the strained rice and stir. Add the required water and mix well. Add salt as well.

Step 6

Cover the lid tightly and pressure cook on high heat till 2 to 3 whistles.

Step 7

When done, serve pudina rice with plain or spiced curd.
