Paneer poha is a quick, protein-packed breakfast or snack that works well for busy mornings. It combines soft paneer with lightly spiced poha for a comforting, filling dish that comes together in minutes.
1 cup thick poha (washed and drained) ½ cup paneer (crumbled or in small cubes) 1 medium onion (finely chopped) 1 green chilli (chopped) ½ tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp mustard seeds 6–8 curry leaves 1½ tbsp oil Salt to taste Fresh coriander (for garnish) Lemon juice (optional)
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter, then add curry leaves.
Add chopped onion and green chilli. Sauté till the onion turns soft and slightly golden.
Add turmeric and mix, then stir in the paneer pieces gently. Cook for 1–2 minutes without breaking them too much.
Add the drained poha and salt. Mix everything lightly so the poha doesn’t turn mushy.
Cover and let it steam on low heat for 2–3 minutes so the flavours come together.
Turn off the heat, garnish with chopped coriander, and add lemon juice if you like a bit of tang.
Serve hot as a standalone breakfast or pair it with curd or tea for a fuller meal.
