When you want to have something sweet without going for packaged treats, bhune chane ka ladoo is the best rescue. Prepared with roasted gram, jaggery, and ghee, these wholesome laddoos feel nutty, enjoyable, and perfect for mid-day hunger pangs.

Ingredients

2 cups roasted chana (bhuna chana) ¾ cup grated jaggery 4 tbsp ghee ¼ tsp cardamom powder 2 tbsp chopped almonds 2 tbsp chopped cashews 1 tbsp melon seeds (optional)

Step 1

In a blender, blend the roasted chana to make a fine powder. Sieve if required to get a smooth texture.

Step 2

In a pan, lightly roast the almonds, cashews, and melon seeds until fragrant in a little ghee. Let them cool down before mixing.

Step 3

Warm the remaining ghee in a pan and add the grated jaggery to it. Stir it gently until it softens and mixes into a smooth mixture.

Step 4

Now, add chana powder, roasted nuts, and cardamom powder. Mix it thoroughly so that every spoon gets coated with the jaggery-ghee mixture nicely.

Step 5

While the mixture is still warm, take small portions and press them firmly between your palms to make smooth, round laddoos.

Step 6

Let the laddoos cool down thoroughly before storing them in an airtight box and enjoy them as an energy-packed sweet snack.
