Marinara sauce is a classic Italian tomato-based sauce bursting with rich flavours of garlic, onions, and herbs. It’s simple, wholesome, and perfect for tossing with pasta, spreading over pizza, or using as a dipping sauce.
5 blanched, peeled, crushed ripe tomatoes 2 tbsp olive oil 4 minced garlic cloves 1 finely chopped onion 1 tsp dried oregano ½ tsp chilli flakes Salt and pepper to taste A handful of fresh basil leaves
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium flame.
Add minced garlic and chopped onions, sauté until soft and golden.
Stir in crushed tomatoes and oregano; mix well.
Add salt, pepper, and chilli flakes; simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes until thickened.
Stir in basil leaves just before turning off the heat. Serve warm over pasta or store in a jar for later use.
