Pineapple Halwa Recipe: Traditional Indian Dessert For Your Sweet Cravings

Made with suji, ghee, sugar, and chopped pineapple, this fruit-based halwa can be made quickly to satisfy your sweet tooth. Since pineapples are naturally sweet, this recipe reduces the refined sugar content.

Ingredients

1 cup suji 1 cup chopped pineapple 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup ghee 2 cups water 1/4 tsp cardamom powder A few strands of saffron 2 tbsp cashews and raisins

Step 1

Boil water with sugar, saffron, and pineapple chunks. Let it simmer till the pineapple softens.

Step 2

Heat some ghee and fry cashew nuts and raisins till golden brown. Set aside.

Step 3

Add the suji and roast over medium heat, stirring constantly.

Step 4

Pour in the pineapple mixture and keep stirring until it reaches a thick consistency.

Step 5

Stir in cardamom powder and fried nuts. Garnish with some more nuts and serve.
