Made with suji, ghee, sugar, and chopped pineapple, this fruit-based halwa can be made quickly to satisfy your sweet tooth. Since pineapples are naturally sweet, this recipe reduces the refined sugar content.
1 cup suji 1 cup chopped pineapple 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup ghee 2 cups water 1/4 tsp cardamom powder A few strands of saffron 2 tbsp cashews and raisins
Boil water with sugar, saffron, and pineapple chunks. Let it simmer till the pineapple softens.
Heat some ghee and fry cashew nuts and raisins till golden brown. Set aside.
Add the suji and roast over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Pour in the pineapple mixture and keep stirring until it reaches a thick consistency.
Stir in cardamom powder and fried nuts. Garnish with some more nuts and serve.
