This peanut butter coated chips on toast recipe is an unashamedly fun, modern pantry-staple mashup that delivers an incredible texture profile. By spreading rich, creamy peanut butter over warm, thickly sliced sourdough and topping it with a layer of salty, crushed potato crisps, you achieve an exceptional sweet, nutty, and savoury balance. It is a quick, high-energy snack that combines the warmth of toasted bread with an addictive crunch.
2 thick slices of artisanal bread or sourdough 3 tbsp creamy or crunchy peanut butter 1/2 cup salted potato chips (crisps), lightly crushed A drizzle of honey or sea salt flakes (optional)
Toast the slices of bread in a toaster or on a hot griddle pan until they are deeply golden brown and highly crisp on both sides.
Spread a generous, even layer of peanut butter across the warm surface of each slice, allowing the residual heat to slightly soften the spread.
Scatter the lightly crushed potato chips evenly over the peanut butter layer, pressing down very gently so they adhere to the sticky surface.
Finish with an optional light drizzle of honey for a sweet contrast or a tiny pinch of sea salt flakes, then slice and serve immediately.
