Papaya shake is a drink that is creamy, naturally sweet and filled with fibre, which is perfect to have for breakfast. It supports digestion, keeps you full for longer, and gives a boost of calcium when blended with milk or curd.
2 cups ripe papaya cubes 1½ cups chilled milk (or curd for a thicker shake) 1 tablespoon soaked chia seeds (optional) 1 tablespoon honey or date syrup 4 to 5 almonds, soaked ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder 4 to 5 ice cubes 1 teaspoon pumpkin seeds for topping
Take a ripe orange papaya with soft flesh and a sweet fragrance. Remove seeds and peel, and cut them into fresh cubes.
In the blender, pour chilled milk or curd into the blender to give it creaminess and also add calcium and protein to the shake.
Now, add papaya cubes, soaked chia seeds and almonds to the blender. These ingredients make the shake even more filling and add texture to the drink.
Now, add honey or date syrup with a pinch of cardamom powder to this to keep the sweetness of the drink light.
Blend this for about 30 to 40 seconds until the shake turns creamy and silky. Add ice cubes if you like a colder summer-style texture.
Pour the papaya shake into glasses and top with some pumpkin seeds. Drink it fresh for the best taste and nutrient value.
