Paneer chilla is a filling, high-protein pancake made from besan and grated paneer. You can eat it for breakfast or a quick lunch. Serve it hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
1 cup besan (gram flour) ½ cup crumbled paneer ¼ cup finely chopped onions 1 green chilli (finely chopped) ½ tsp cumin seeds ¼ tsp turmeric Chopped coriander Salt to taste Water as needed Oil for cooking
In a bowl, combine besan, turmeric, salt, and cumin seeds. Slowly add water to form a lump-free, pourable batter.
Stir in crumbled paneer, chopped onions, green chilli, and coriander. Mix gently so the batter is evenly combined. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes.
Heat a non-stick or iron tawa and brush it with oil. Pour a ladleful of batter and spread it out gently like a pancake.
Drizzle some oil around the edges and cook on medium heat until golden on both sides. Flip carefully to avoid breaking.
Serve hot with chutney or curd. It tastes great plain too.
