Panagam: A South Indian Herbal Drink For Festive Naivedhyam

Traditionally prepared for offerings during festive occasions in Tamil Nadu, the panagam is a sugar-free drink made with dry spices and jaggery – ideal for those who are looking to break their fast.

3 tablespoons grated jaggery 4 cardamom pods 1 teaspoon dry ginger powder Juice of ½ lemon 1 cup water

Crush the cardamom pods and add it to the water, along with the remaining ingredients.

Stir slowly until the jaggery dissolves completely and allow it to refrigerate for a couple of hours.
