Palak Dosa: Give The South Indian Staple A Healthier Twist

Dosa, the South Indian staple, is known for its nutrient content and versatility. To give your dosa a green tint and a healthier twist, here’s a recipe for palak dosa you must try.

Ingredients

1 cup rice ¼ cup urad dal 1 cup spinach leaves ½ inch ginger 2 green chillies ¼ teaspoon cumin seeds A pinch of hing Salt to taste Oil for cooking

Step 1

Rinse rice and urad dal. Soak them separately for 4-5 hours. Grind till smooth.

Step 2

Blanch spinach leaves in boiling water for a few minutes and then grind them.

Step 3

Mix the pureed spinach with the dal batter and some salt. Let it ferment overnight.

Step 4

Heat a tawa, grease it with oil, and pour a spoonful of the fermented batter.

Step 5

Spread the batter in a circular motion and cook the dosa on both sides.

Step 6

Serve the hot palak dosa with sambar and coconut chutney.
