One-Pot Millet Khichdi For A Quick Gluten-Free Meal

Millet khichdi is an even healthier version of the traditional rice-based khichdi. Filled with protein and fibre content, it is also easy to make. So, if you want a quick and healthy one-pot meal, here’s the recipe.

Ingredients

1 cup mixed millet 1/2 cup moong dal 1 tablespoon ghee 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 medium onion 1 green chilli 1 inch ginger 1 tomato 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder Salt to taste 4 cups water Chopped coriander leaves for garnish

Step 1

Heat some ghee in a pressure cooker. Sauté cumin seeds, chopped onion and green chilli.

Step 2

Add grated ginger and tomato. Next, add moong dal, turmeric, red chilli powder, and salt.

Step 3

Mix in the rolled oats. Stir well. Pour in the water and cook for 3 whistles.

Step 4

Once done, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes.

Step 5

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with dahi and achar.
